Billy4Kids’ durable canvas shoes address the challenges of human trafficking.
Billy Lerner and Billy4Kids supply of shoes to underprivileged children has had a great influence on combating child trafficking in poverty affected countries.
In providing shoes, co-founder of Billy4Kids and iPark CEO, Billy Lerner, is helping in addressing the root cause of child trafficking – lack of opportunity. The durable shoes provided by Billy4Kids are designed to protect children’s feet from contracting parasitic infections from the soil. With less incidence of sickness, children have a greater opportunity to attend school and build their skills, offering them more options in securing future work. In providing greater opportunities, Billy4Kids is subsequently helping children negate the idea that trafficking is their only option of survival.

Since beginning in 2013, Billy4Kids has partnered with multiple charitable organizations in impoverished countries and in doing so has provided thousands of pairs of shoes to children in need. Many of these children have suffered through abandonment, abuse, and parental drug use, leaving them vulnerable to child trafficking. Billy Lerner along with co-founder of Billy4Kids, Alexson Roy continue their mission of supplying underprivileged children with shoes, providing them with future options and an outlet away from forced labor.

One of the primary causes of child trafficking is poverty. In 2021, reports from The International Labor Organization (ILO) showed that almost 160million children from 5-17 years old were involved in human trafficking (ILO, 2021). Child victims of trafficking are exploited and forced to work in sweatshops, on farms, as domestic servants or as beggars on the street (UNICEF, 2023). Through their actions, Billy4Kids continues to work toward providing underprivileged children with more opportunities in life and in doing so is helping in addressing child trafficking.
